Enhanced Medicines Management support within GP practices e.g. Practice based audits / projects.
PACT/HES data analysis and production of prescribing reports to support locality.
Development and implementation of medicines management and prescribing strategies
Clinical audit and review vs. best practice to ensure up to date cost effectiveness
Recommend and facilitate sustained changes in prescribing practice to ensure high quality, safe, evidence-based and cost-effective medicines use.
To facilitate the achievement of prescribing financial targets within the PBC locality.
Facilitate effective communication relating to pharmaceutical issues across the Primary / Secondary care interface, and encourage the rational use of medicines.
Input at practice/PBC meetings to debate quality and cost-effective prescribing.
