My Institute conduct research on all aspects of rice. The mandate of the institute is to increase rice production to feed the ever increasing population. The research programmes are performed under seven programme areas. Pest Management is one of the seven programme areas dealing with insect pests and diseases.
Researches for the development of new rice varieties and production technologies for the diverse ecosystems existing in Bangladesh are conducted at the BRRI main station at Gazipur and at nine regional stations situated in Comilla, Habiganj, Sonagazi of Feni, Bhanga of Faridpur, Barisal, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Kushtia and Satkhira districts.
